Senior Payroll Officer

Our Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for the payroll process and ensuring the timely and accurate administration of employee compensation in accordance with established policies and within the required turnaround times.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all relevant payroll policies, processes, and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Manage and overlook payroll functions for the entire region (UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain & Qatar) for frontline and back office.
  • Follow the day-to-day activities related to own job with minimal supervision to ensure continuity of work.
  • Follow-up on escalated cases /issues/questions of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Supports annual and interim audit by providing required statements, information related to payroll and liaise with auditors.
  • Ensure adherence of companies/business units to payroll processes
  • Review and post entries for deductions, loans, additions, commissions, and unpaid leaves.
  • Ensure coherence of staff allocation in the payroll versus budgets, division feedback, and revised budget.
  • Prepare End of Service settlements, review the final dues for leavers or transferred employees in accordance with local laws and groups policies and procedures.
  • Check accuracy of information in final payroll report.
  • Process and issue employee monthly pay slips and ensure their distribution to the employees Prepare monthly salary entries and provision in accordance with accounting standards and principles and each BU’s requirements.
  • Contribute to the reconciliation of the general ledger balances (balance sheet accounts) against manual schedules of provisions.
  • Ensure monthly review of subsidiary and general ledger balances related to salaries Ensure proper file maintenance - printouts or soft copy – in a safe and secure manner Conduct periodic calculation of employees’ variables.
  • Prepare budget data periodically (staff cost related to salaries per business unit) Participate in relevant projects and community activities as and when needed.

 

Your Profile:

  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in payroll, and budgeting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Accounting certification like CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
  • Experience working with accounting and payroll software applications, including file downloads and data extraction/conversion techniques.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and agile.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with GCC labor laws.
